Outside my window the dogs lope through my yard and into the neighbors with children's screeching giggles bouncing off the fence my tomato plants sprout in the mini greenhouse on the window sill the sun shines a breeze wanders through the open back door carrying the recently mown grass, ornamental cherry blossoms open just past their prime and the hot oil from the next door neighbor's kitchen.
The tea kettle's whistle turns my attention back to the stove where its steam rises up to the fan turning the black metal into a foggy gray My tongue can already taste the Earl Grey tea, my nose inhales as I twist and pull open the paper bag and drop the tea into my cup, fill it with hot water and open the refrigerator door.
I take out the pint of half and half and put a tablespoon's worth in with the tea. Lifting the hot cup to my face I inhale again the smell of contentment.
my turn for the little room questions answered symptoms explained the liquid squeezed in pupils expanded beyond the limits of comfort my eyes taking in all this light it is too much for me so much light
i have an inablity to be too directly in a strong glow without pain or at least discomfort and many take this as a sign that i am unhappy or depressed or ungrateful or unappreciative of light
that is not my truth i love the light i know it is a gift giving us life i just can't sit in it's direct flow my eyes take in too much
I have a submissions calendar page. These are culled from P&W, Duotrope, CRWOPPS, emails and friends. Feel free to add the Google calendar in its entirety to your calendar or add specific events.

Lifting the hot cup to my face I inhale again
the smell of contentment.
