knowings
by Deb

hearts craving
kindred conversations
one voice connects
another joins
and more and more
lean in for
sacred warmth
of the circle

arms reaching
hands seeking the
friendly embrace
soft touch
hard hands working
stilled
holding joys and pain
a communal peace

millenniums of yearning
for gentle comforts
and courageous caring
women wise
with knowing
true words and
generous thoughts
sustain and nourish
revolutions of kindness

Inside the meaning of longing the women echo
by Dot

Inside the meaning of longing the women's hearts echo
the laughter and cries of children and men whose freedom
isn't dependent on others on being needed on needing
whose freedom comes because a woman brought them forth
and a woman gave them sustenance and a woman
was willing to give a piece of her time for their creation

Inside the meaning of longing the women's breath echoes
the songs of freedom and the cost of freedom and the hope
of everyone's freedom because then
everyone will be alright and everyone will know
that a woman was here and a woman said
it's okay
you're safe
you're home

Inside the meaning of longing the women's bodies echo
the movement of the earth and the synchronicity
of the moon and the sea and the breath
of the wind carrying the memories
and the dreams and the hopes and the sorrows
so that we as a species don't forget
can remember that we are only one inhabitant
on this big blue and green and gray and brown ball in the sky

Inside the meaning of longing the women echo each other
quietly
softly
knowingly
Inside
women
echo
